Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to shape aspects of care delivery in new and exciting ways. With Quality Professionals at the forefront of change and integration efforts, we must be comfortable with a basic understanding of the technology, its opportunities, and risks.

This session will give attendees a basic understanding of AI and how it works; current uses in care delivery; and raise important considerations for quality leaders to ensure patient safety is at the forefront of current or proposed use.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define and describe AI and how the technology functions.
  • Discuss processes around data governance and management for appropriate application.
  • Share insights related to risk associated with use of AI from a quality and risk perspective.
